Dear Colleagues and Friends,
We are pleased to announce our International School and Workshop on “Origin of Elements and Cosmic Evolution” (OECE2025), November 10-14, 2025 to be held in Peng Huanwu Collaborative Center for Research and Education, Beihang University, Beijing in China. We will host a three-day OECE International School during November 10-12 prior to the International Workshop on November 13-14. On behalf of the LOC we would like to cordially invite you to these activities OECE2025.

Nuclear astrophysics and cosmology is a rapidly advancing field at the intersection of nuclear physics, astrophysics, and cosmology. It seeks to understand the origin of the elements, the evolution of stars - galaxies - the universe, and the fundamental processes that have shaped the universe from the Big Bang to the present day. Recent progress in astronomical observations, experiments, and theoretical modeling — such as high-resolution spectroscopy, gravitational wave detection, large-scale simulations, measurement of elementary particle & nuclear processes in the RIBF and undergound laboratories, and their microscipic theoretical modeling — has opened up new opportunities to explore nucleosynthesis, stellar explosions, and the cosmic chemical evolution in unprecedented detail. As a truly interdisciplinary endeavor, this field plays a vital role in connecting the microscopic world of atomic nuclei with the macroscopic structure and history of the universe.
The OECE International School during November 10-12, 2025 is designed to provide graduate students and young postdocs with lectures and tutorials on both the fundamentals and the frontiers of nuclear astrophysics. The OECE International Workshop during November 13-14, 2025 is intended to bring together leading scientists worldwide to discuss recent advances in the origin of elements and cosmic evolution.
If you know any graduate students or junior colleagues who may be interested in OECE2025, please feel free to share this information with them.
Topics
The following topics are discussed in the workshop:
High-resolution spectroscopy and stellar abundances
Galactic archaeology and chemical evolution
Stellar evolution, supernovae, and compact objects
Heavy element nucleosynthesis (r-, i-, s-, and p-processes)
Nuclear physics & Nuclear reactions for astrophysics
Neutrinos and weak interactions in astrophysics
Registeration Information
Both participant registration and the call for abstracts will begin in late August. The registration fee is 500 RMB. The full timetable of the school and the list of invited lecturers will be released in future announcements.
