The Institute of Physics at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University invites applications for four postdoctoral research associate positions in lattice gauge theory, tensor networks and quantum computing broadly defined. The starting date for the positions is the 1st of August 2024 with flexibility. The positions are for two years with the possibility of extension into the 3rd year depending on performance and funding. Two of these positions are tied to special-project grants, with one on lattice simulations of the 2-Higgs doublet model, and the other on tensor networks and quantum computing.
The group is composed of two faculty members, Prof. Anthony Francis and Prof. C.-J. David Lin, as well as a number of postdocs and students working on research in QCD spectroscopy and hadron structure, new methods in lattice QCD, lattice BSM and new formulations of QFT via tensor networks and quantum computing. We also collaborate with various colleagues inside and outside of Taiwan, for example within the HOPE collaboration and OpenLat.
Successful candidates are encouraged to develop their own research projects while being engaged in collaborative works on the above topics. Successful candidates on the above-mentioned two special-project grants are expected to make progress on relevant research topics. For the other two positions, candidates who are interested in QCD spectroscopy and hadron structure are particularly welcome to apply.
To apply, please prepare a cover letter, CV, research statement, publication list and arrange for 3 reference letters to be uploaded to academicjobsonline.org (https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/26185) or sent to us via email. In case of submission via email or for informal inquiries, please contact: Prof. Anthony Francis at afrancis@nycu.edu.tw, Prof. C.-J. David Lin at dlin@nycu.edu.tw,
Review of the applications will start on the 12th of December 2023, and will continue until the positions are filled.
